HAVEN RIVIERA CANCUN OPENING IN NOV´18

The destination will welcome Haven Riviera Cancun this fall with a soft opening in September and a full opening in November. Situated just 15 minutes south from the airport, Haven will feature 333 suites in its opening phase, 109 of which will be part of its even more luxurious Serenity Club. 86% of the rooms are ocean front or ocean view and 25% of the rooms will be swim up suites. This initial phase of the complex is adults only and features all king-sized beds. Additional phases will be added in the future, including a golf course, as part of this 250 acre property. AMIKOO THEME PARK

Gala Entertainment with investments from Grupo IUSA and others are investing 840 million USD in a Mayan them park called AMIKOO that is schedule to fully open in 2020. The park is located next to the Iberostar Paraiso property and includes an area of 300 acres. It will feature 24 attractions divided in 4 different zones as well as 1,200 room resort. It is expected to compete with Disney attractions and is expected to draw 4.5 million visitors annually.

 

CANCUN AIRPORT EXPANDS CAPACITY TO 31 MILLION PAX YEARLY

Last fall, Cancun Airport inaugurated its Terminal 4 giving the airport an operating capacity of 31 million passengers. CUN now has more terminals than any other airport in Mexico and is the 2nd largest in volume next to Mexico City. Domestically, Mexico City – Cancun is the most frequented route with 4.7 million passengers. Internationally within North America, Houston – Cancun ranks 4th, Chicago – Cancun 6th, Toronto – Cancun 7th, New York – Cancun 8th, Atlanta – Cancun 9th and LA – Cancun 10th.
